Film on the paint
Which PPF films do we install, and how do they differ?

On our website you don't pick a film by line name, but by what you get: warranty, film thickness, a matte finish, or FEYNLAB ceramic protection on top. Here's what each choice means.

On our website you don't choose a PPF film by a line name. You choose what you actually get: how long a manufacturer warranty, how thick the film, whether the finish is glossy or matte, and whether you want FEYNLAB ceramic protection added on top. This article is for anyone curious about what's behind each of those choices.
Why the choice is warranty and thickness, not a line name
We install FlexiShield film in three thicknesses and in a matte finish, plus FEYNLAB film with ceramic protection added on top. Each of these has its own internal line name, but the name alone tells a customer nothing – that's why you won't find it on the website. What you see instead is what actually matters: how many years the manufacturer stands behind the film, and how thick the film on the car will be. This article fills in those names for anyone who wants to know exactly what they're choosing.
The base, thicker and thickest film
Three of the four FlexiShield films we offer differ in material thickness and manufacturer warranty length:
- Base film, 191 µm – the FlexiShield BHP line, 8-year manufacturer warranty.
- Thicker film, 203 µm – the FlexiShield WSH line, 10-year manufacturer warranty.
- Thickest film, 216 µm – the FlexiShield WSH Pro line, 12-year manufacturer warranty.
A micron (µm) is a unit of thickness; film thickness is often also given in mils, where one mil is roughly 25 microns. The difference between the lines isn't only thickness. They also differ in the quality of TPU, the plastic the film is made from, and in the length of the manufacturer's warranty.
Why thickness matters more than warranty on a hard-driven car
Warranty tells you how long the manufacturer stands behind the film. Thickness tells you what the film can physically withstand the moment something hits it – and those are two different things. The thicker the film, the harder it is to tear, puncture or scratch through: a stone kicked up on the motorway, gravel from an unpaved road, a bag leaned against an edge, another car's door handle in a car park. This kind of wear doesn't wait for the eighth, tenth or twelfth year of the warranty to pass – it happens with every kilometre. So if a car spends a lot of time on the motorway, off paved roads, or gets loaded and handled often, a thicker film is worth it, even if the longer warranty never ends up being used.
Matte finish
The matte finish comes from the same FlexiShield family, just with a surface that isn't glossy – it's the BHP MAT line, previously sold as BHP Satin, and because of the different surface the manufacturer gives it a 7-year warranty, one year shorter than the base glossy film. Anyone who wants a matte look without respraying should factor in that shorter warranty upfront.
FEYNLAB film with ceramic protection
Besides FlexiShield, we also offer FEYNLAB film, in both glossy and matte versions. The idea here is different from FlexiShield: it's a film that, once applied, we coat with FEYNLAB ceramic protection, which is included in the price. The manufacturer gives it a warranty of 10 years; thickness isn't stated. So we don't rate this option by thickness the way we do FlexiShield, because what matters here is a different property – what gets added on top of the film.
What isn't included in the film's price
Polishing or any other paint correction isn't included in the price of any of these films. The film doesn't repair the paint – it only preserves it in whatever condition it finds it. If the paint needs correction, we add it based on its actual condition, which we determine during an inspection of the car.
