Open the doors and there's dust in the gaps, stains on the seats, and the plastics are dull. Outside, the car is freshly washed, but in the sun you can see swirl marks and fine scratches on the paint, and the gloss isn't what it used to be. Or maybe you've just taken delivery of the car and want to keep it in good shape from the start. You don't want to deal with washing, polishing and the interior separately – you want the whole car done at once. That's detailing: we go through the car inside and out and, based on its condition, choose one of three levels.
Which level your car needs
- The car is new and you want to send it into everyday use in good shape: basic detailing for a new car. It's for cars roughly up to six months old with minimal use. Even a new car carries subtle traces from manufacturing, transport and storage that you'll only see in the sun. We lightly correct the paint so micro-scratches disappear before protection seals them in, and we impregnate the leather parts of the interior. Why this matters is explained in the article What a New Car Really Needs.
- The car has been in use for a year or two and it's starting to show: detailing for a near-new car. It's for cars roughly 6 to 24 months old in normal use. We polish the paint in multiple steps to remove damage with as little loss of paint as possible.
- The paint looks tired even freshly washed and has deeper scratches: correction detailing. Outside, we add multi-step polishing and paint correction that addresses deeper abrasions and scratches; inside, we deep-clean the fabrics with extraction and impregnate the leather parts. The result is noticeably clearer, calmer paint with better reflections. Why paint glows after correction, and why a bottle of polish from the petrol station won't do the same, is explained in the guide.
Working time varies by the level chosen, the car's size and its condition. We'll confirm the exact date and how long the car will stay with us after an inspection.
By car
Car for Sale
For a car that's going into a listing in a few weeks. It gets a polish that brings back the gloss and a deep interior clean. The request already includes both services.
Request car-for-sale preparation
Deep scratches and dents won't go away.
Just-Bought Used Car
For a used car you've just taken over without knowing what it's been through. It gets detailing at the level its condition calls for – washing, paint polishing and interior cleaning – plus air conditioning cleaning.
Request detailing with air conditioning
Want to know the state of the paint first? Start with a paint condition check. If you follow it up with detailing, its price is deducted.
Request a paint check and detailing
We don't deal with the car's mechanical condition, such as the engine or brakes.
What you're paying for
The basics are the same at every level.
- Inspection. We look at the car in person and tell you which level it needs and what to expect from it.
- Interior. We vacuum the floors, seats and boot, clean the sills, door frames, dashboard, panels, trim and glass, remove dust and stains, and treat the plastics and vinyl.
- Wash and wheels. We hand-wash the car using the two-bucket method with a pH-neutral shampoo and clean the wheels and rims.
- Paint cleaning. We remove tar and dust particles that washing doesn't take off the paint using a clay bar.
- Polishing by level. From a light correction on a new car to multi-step polishing and paint correction for correction detailing.
- Protection and finishing. We apply a basic sealant to the paint, which enhances gloss and protects it; it lasts up to six months, more like around three in everyday use. We treat plastics and rubber trim with dressing, and clean and treat chrome and metal elements.
At handover you get a car that's clean inside and out, with the paint under a protective layer.
What the price depends on
- The car's size and class. A small or mid-size car has less paint and interior than a large car or SUV. Luxury and premium cars have their own price class.
- The level. Each higher level adds polishing steps, correction detailing adds more, and interior cleaning goes deeper.
- The condition of the paint and interior. Deeper scratches and an interior with ground-in dirt take more work.
We choose the level based on the car's age and paint condition; we'll confirm the exact price after an inspection. If you want to know the paint's condition beforehand, start with paint diagnostics. If you follow it up with detailing, its price is deducted from the job's price.
If something goes wrong
We give a two-year warranty on the work performed. The materials used carry the manufacturer's warranty under their terms. We carry out warranty checks, and if anything about the car doesn't look right after handover, bring it in and we'll take a look together.
When you only need part of it
- Just the paint, the interior is fine: paint correction, or a smaller step, light paint enhancement.
- One scratch or one spot: spot correction of a specific defect.
- Just the interior with stains soaked into the fabrics: deep interior cleaning.
- Paint that needs a paint shop: polishing won't save that. Why paint can't be polished indefinitely is explained in the article How Much Paint Is on a Car.
To make the car last longer
Corrected paint is the best moment for long-term protection, because it locks in the condition the paint is found in. Ceramic surface protection protects the paint for one to five years depending on the line chosen, and SEVEN Works is a certified FEYNLAB® studio and installer. Against stone chips on the nose and bonnet edge, there's PPF film. If you want protection alongside detailing, just say so in your request. We can also wash the car regularly afterwards: car wash for ceramic or film protection.
