Car Wash for Ceramic or Film Protection

A ceramic coating maintenance wash: regular hand washing for a car with ceramic coating or PPF film. We adapt the process to the protection on the paint so it doesn't suffer unnecessarily. No machine-wash brushes.

Your car has ceramic coating or PPF film, and after every wash at a car wash you wonder whether you've damaged it. After a few washes, film can lift at the edge of the bumper or develop a milky haze. Water can stop beading off the ceramic sooner than you expected. And you don't want to wash the car yourself, or you have nowhere to do it.

This wash is for a car with ceramic coating, PPF film or wax, whether the protection was applied by our studio or somewhere else. If the car has no protection at all, a regular Hand Wash is enough. If water doesn't bead off the paint after washing, or there's build-up on the surface, one level up is Thorough Wash with Residue Removal and, if needed, renewing the ceramic protection.

Why a Protected Car Is Washed Differently

PPF film doesn't come away in the middle of a panel, but at the edge where it ends. A jet of water aimed straight at the edge lifts it, and the adhesive underneath is weakened by hot water, harsh chemicals or salt that stays on the car over winter. The article A Car With PPF Film: How to Wash It covers this in detail. Ceramic, for its part, needs hand washing with a neutral, wax-free shampoo and no machine-wash brushes.

What You're Paying For

  1. A process matched to the protection. Before we start, we ask what's on the car and on which panels. We choose the process accordingly.
  2. Pre-wash. Heavy dirt and sand come off before the mitt touches the surface.
  3. Hand washing. On film, we run the water jet along the panel, not against the edge. We wash ceramic the way we'd recommend you wash it too: by hand, with a neutral, wax-free shampoo.
  4. Wheels and tyres.
  5. Rinsing and gentle drying.
  6. Finishing off the details.

What the Price Depends On

  • The car's size. More surface area means more work.
  • What protection is on the car. Ceramic, PPF film, wax, or a combination. A car with film on the front has more edges that need care during washing.
  • How dirty the car is. We'll tell you the exact amount based on the car's actual condition.

What If Something Happens to the Protection

If you had the protection applied by us, a two-year warranty covers the work, and the manufacturer's warranty covers the material. We check the condition of the protection at warranty inspections. If something about the film or ceramic doesn't look right to you in between, tell us when you arrange a wash and we'll take a look together. The article how to tell a bubble that disappears on its own from a lifted edge will help too.
