You get into a car that has stood in the sun all afternoon and you can't hold the steering wheel. The afternoon sun in a living room or an office is just as bothersome: there is glare on the screen and the room heats up. Both are solved with film stuck to the glass: tinting film on the car, sun protection film on the windows of homes and offices. On cars we tint within the legal limits.
