The car runs fine, but you've grown tired of how it looks. The colour you once picked no longer pleases you, the chrome around the windows doesn't suit the car, or the roof looks needlessly tall. Repainting the whole car just for the look isn't something you want to do. Design Wrap changes the car's colour and character with film, without touching the paint underneath. When you get tired of the change, or you're selling the car, the film can be removed again.
You don't need to know exactly what you want. Just tell us what bothers you about the car, and we'll put together a design together.
What you want to change on the car
- The car looks tall or heavy: a black roof, gloss or matte. It visually lowers the silhouette and softens the proportions, on a small hatchback just as much as on an SUV.
- The chrome bothers you: we cover the trim, grille mask or logos with film. More on the De-chroming page.
- Something's missing from the car, but you're not sure what: often the mirrors, spoiler or trim are enough. A change like that doesn't alter the car's original character, it just shifts it.
- You want a completely different colour: a full wrap. Film covers the whole body and changes the colour of the whole car.
Smaller jobs can be combined. We're happy to do the roof, mirrors and de-chroming together in one go, and you can move on to a full wrap later.
Gloss, matte, or textured
Besides colour, you also choose the film's finish. Gloss reflects light much like paint. Matte scatters it, and the car looks calmer. Textured film adds its own texture to the surface. It's easiest to choose over photos of your car, so send them over and we'll go through the options together.
What you're paying for
- Design. Based on the photos and what you want to change, we propose the scope, finish and colour. We'll also tell you what wouldn't look good on your car.
- Paint assessment. Film follows the surface underneath it. A scratch or a dent under it will still show, and where the paint is peeling, the film won't hold. We'll tell you in advance what the film won't be able to fix.
- Paint preparation. We apply the wrap onto paint that's ready for it. For a new car that means detailing for a new car; for an older one, depending on its condition, detailing for a near-new car or correction detailing. If you're not sure about the paint's condition, start with Paint Diagnostics. If a job follows on from it, its price is deducted.
- Cleaning and degreasing the parts. Traces of wax or polish under the film reduce adhesion, so we thoroughly clean every part before applying the film.
- Applying the film. Our team applies the film. We pull the edge in behind the panel's edge wherever its shape allows. How the edges are finished matters most to whether the wrap looks natural or draws attention for the wrong reason.
- Handover. We'll show you the result by the car, and for a full wrap we'll agree a service plan with you, in other words how to look after the film going forward.
As long as the film is on the car, it also covers the paint underneath.
What the price depends on
- Scope. A roof or a few trim pieces is a different job from a full wrap.
- Size and shape of the car. A bigger car needs more material, and more intricate parts mean more work at the edges.
- Chosen film. Price is affected by both colour and finish: gloss, matte, or textured.
- Condition of the paint. It determines how much preparation the car needs before wrapping. The more preparation the paint needs, the more the job costs.
You'll get the exact price in the proposed solution, once we know what we're wrapping and on which car, including whether the necessary paint preparation is included in the price or billed as a separate item.
If something goes wrong
We give a two-year warranty on the workmanship, the film manufacturer's warranty applies to the material, and we carry out warranty checks. If the edge of the film lifts or a bubble appears underneath, get in touch and we'll take a look. Our guide explains what a bubble under PPF film is and what goes away on its own. If you want to go back to the original colour, for example before selling the car, we'll remove the film.
When protection is what you're really after
Design Wrap changes the look. Against stone chips and scuffs, PPF film is the right choice, and it can also be applied to the whole car. How to combine look and protection is covered on the Combined Protection page.
What to send with your inquiry
- photos of the car from the front, side and back,
- make, model and year,
- what you want to change, even just "something about it doesn't sit right",
- whether you prefer gloss, matte, or you're not sure yet.
Photos from your phone are enough. If you'd like to talk through the design first, call +420 739 374 074.
