Window Tinting

A hot steering wheel, sun in your kids' eyes, or no view into the boot? We tint with nano-ceramic SolarScreen and KEETEC films, within the legal limits and based on what actually bothers you in the car.

You get into a car that's been sitting in the afternoon sun, and you can't hold the steering wheel. In the back, the sun shines straight into your kids' faces, through the rear screen you can see what's in the boot, and low sun dazzles you while driving. Tinting solves this with film applied to the inside of the glass. You don't need to know which film you want or what percentage is allowed. Just tell us what bothers you in the car, and we'll propose the scope.

What you can have done on your car

  • Privacy in the back and peace for the kids: the rear side windows and the rear screen. There you can pick the shade almost freely, all the way to windows you can't see into from outside.
  • Against glare above the steering wheel: a strip along the top of the windscreen.
  • Before an inspection, with film that won't pass: we measure window by window, tell you what will pass and what has to come off, and remove the old film along with the adhesive residue.

Which glass, and how far

  • Rear side windows and the rear screen: the shade is your choice; the law sets no minimum light transmission there.
  • Front side windows: they must let through at least 70 per cent of the light, and the glass is measured with the film on it. In practice that means a film which darkens the glass barely perceptibly. We do not apply dark film to front side windows.
  • The windscreen: it cannot be tinted as a whole; a fully tinted windscreen will not pass a roadworthiness inspection. We apply only a sun strip along the top of the glass.

Where those limits come from and how they are measured is covered in the article Window Tinting and the Law.

We apply only nano-ceramic films, SolarScreen and KEETEC, to all glass. Heat in them is caught by ceramic particles, not dye, so the window won't turn purple, and because there's no metal in them, your phone and GPS keep working. How dark a window is and how much heat the film holds back are two different things. Why, is explained in the article Cheap or Ceramic Tint Film. Where the legal line runs is in the article Window Tinting and the Law.

What you're paying for

Window tinting here is done by Lukáš Vyskočil and Sebastian Vyskočil.

  1. Scope proposal. Based on what bothers you, we'll propose which windows to tint and how dark.
  2. Equipment check. If you're also ordering the sun strip and the car has a driver-assistance camera behind the windscreen, the film on the strip mustn't blind it. That's why we ask about the equipment in advance and choose the film with it in mind.
  3. Glass preparation. We clean the glass before applying the film. If there's old film on it, we remove it along with the adhesive.
  4. Application. The film is applied wet, so it can be positioned precisely to the shape of the glass.
  5. Handover. We tell you which film is on which glass and when it was applied, show you how to treat the windows in the first few days, and hand you a certificate for the film.

What the price depends on

The price mainly comes down to the number of windows. The rear windows alone are a different job from the rear windows together with a sun strip on the windscreen. The type of car also matters: the size of the glass and its curvature. A strongly curved rear screen takes more work than a flat one. The chosen film and whether old film needs removing first also factor in. We'll send you the exact price in a proposal based on your car, and confirm a date once it works for you.

The first few days after tinting

Because the film is applied wet, some water can remain under it for a while. It looks like milky patches or droplets and leaves on its own through the film, faster in summer, slower in the cold. As long as you can see it, don't lower the door windows. The seal would push up the edge of the film. You can drive and wash the car as normal. More in the article Droplets Under the Film After Tinting.

If something goes wrong

We give a 2-year warranty on the work. SolarScreen and KEETEC film carries the manufacturer's lifetime warranty. We carry out warranty checks. If something about the film doesn't look right to you, for example a bubble that isn't shrinking after two weeks in the warmth, send us a photo and the installation date, or come by and we'll take a look together.

When we'd recommend another service

If you mainly want to change the look of the car, a design wrap will serve you better. If it's paint protection from stone chips you're after, there's PPF film. We also apply tint film to windows in homes and offices: film for building windows. We don't apply tint darker than the legal limit.

Write to us about what bothers you in the car

Tell us the make, model and year, which windows you want tinted, and whether it's about heat, glare, or privacy. Also let us know whether the car already has any film on it. If you're not sure, just describe what bothers you. If you'd like to ask something first, call +420 739 374 074.
