How to set up care that works with everyday driving
3 minEstimated reading time — roughly how many minutes it takes to read at a normal screen pace.
Many car care plans assume an ideal world that everyday driving doesn't offer. Cars sit outside, drive through rain and dust, and washes sometimes get rushed. We'll show you how to set up care that still holds up after the first year — and when a simple consultation with a specialist can help.

Water has stopped beading after a wash and sits on the bonnet in flat puddles. You are washing the car exactly the way you did in spring, but afterwards it never looks finished – streaks stay behind and dirt holds on harder than it used to.
We'll show you why this happens even to cars whose owners look after them properly, and when it's worth going through your washing routine with us.
The first few months, when washing looks after itself
In the first weeks and months the car has an easy time of it. Water gathers into beads and runs off, dirt lets go after the first rinse, and the wash is done sooner than you expected.
Until now you have driven the car mostly in weather that suited it. The first few months won't tell you how it will look in a year.
When you first reach for stronger products
Then you spot the first dull patch on a door, or water that has dried into rings. That is usually when you step things up: you buy a stronger shampoo, press harder as you wash, and wash more often.
Each time it helps for a while, so next time you step it up again. Instead of keeping the car as it is, you start chasing it.
In spring a wash was all it took. In autumn the same wash leaves the car looking worse, and you add another step.

When you start watching the protection instead of the paint
After a while you catch yourself asking not how the paint looks, but whether the protection is still holding. You check whether water still beads, and plan the next wash around the answer.
That is the point to get in touch with us. Protection chosen well needs no watching over and no rescuing – you shouldn't really be aware of it at all.
When the car lives outside and there's no time to wash
Most guides assume you have a garage, plenty of time and a steady rhythm. Your car, though, stands outside, gets driven in rain, in winter and through dust, and the wash sometimes gets rushed and sometimes skipped altogether.
That is what we allow for when we set your washing routine up. If we know you park outside and only wash the car now and then over winter, we'll recommend something different from what we'd suggest for a car kept in a garage.
When you can keep washing the same way
When the routine is built around the way the car is actually driven, there is no need to step it up next time. One skipped wash spoils nothing, and once you are back to the usual rhythm the car is right where it was.
That is what the maintenance wash for a protected car we offer at our studio in Ústí nad Labem is built for: regular care that never has to be escalated.
What to do next
Once you notice that every next step has to be stronger than the last, get in touch before you step it up a third time. A simple consultation is enough: we'll go through the condition of the paint and the way you use the car, and tell you what makes sense to do at home and what to leave to us.
We want your car to keep looking this way for years – not just for the first one.
We write about choosing between a ceramic coating and PPF in When paint protection makes sense.
