New Car: Film Up Front, Ceramic Elsewhere

Want the front of the car protected against stone chips and the rest easy to wash? Our PPF and ceramic package puts film on the areas gravel hits and FEYNLAB ceramic on the rest of the paint.

Stand by the car so the sun hits the bonnet from the side. On the leading edge and the bumper you'll see small pits from stone chips. On the roof, sides and rear there are no stone chips, but water spreads there, and dirt only loosens on the second wash. Each part of the car needs something different, and one protection isn't enough for everything.

Combined protection splits the job. PPF film goes where stone chips hit and the paint gets scuffed. Ceramic protection goes on the paint the film does not cover. Ceramic on the film itself can be added on, or you can choose film with ceramic protection, where the ceramic is part of the film. We can also apply ceramic to the glass, tyres and plastic trim.

How to put together a combination based on how you drive

  • You drive a lot on the motorway: film on the whole front of the car, usually back to the pillar beside the windscreen. Ceramic on the rest of the car.
  • The first chips on the front end bother you most: film just on the headlights and the front of the bonnet, ceramic on the rest.
  • You park on the street and load the car often: film on the entry sills and boot edge, see film for a single part, ceramic on the whole car.

Not sure what to choose? Tell us where and how you drive, and we'll propose a split.

New Car: Protection from Day One

For a new car or one up to a year old, especially if you drive a lot on the motorway. It gets protective film on the whole front end, usually back to the pillar beside the windscreen, and Ceramic V3 protection on the rest of the paint, for which the manufacturer states three years. We'll recommend the film's warranty and thickness based on how much you drive.

Request protection for a new car

Stone chips already in the paint aren't dealt with by this set; repairing them is priced separately based on the paint's condition — what can be done with stone-chip dots already on the bonnet and bumper is something we go through in the guide.

What you're paying for

  • FlexiShield film in the type suited to how much strain the car will take and how long you plan to keep it.
  • Paint preparation. Whatever correction the paint needs is priced separately based on its actual condition, regardless of the film's scope. We explain in the guide why even a new car usually needs some preparation.
  • FEYNLAB ceramic protection in the line suited to what you expect from the car. You'll find an overview of the lines on the ceramic protection overview.
  • Handover, showing you how to wash the car with both film and ceramic.

SEVEN Works is a certified studio and installer of both FlexiShield and FEYNLAB.

What the price depends on

On how much of the car the film covers and of what type, how much is left for ceramic, and which line you choose. A bigger car needs more material. Polishing and repairs to damaged paint, such as stone chip impacts, are priced separately based on the paint's condition. We'll send a quote for your car and the split you want.

If something goes wrong

We give a two-year warranty on the work, for both film and ceramic. The manufacturer's warranty applies to the material: 8, 10 or 12 years for clear FlexiShield film, according to the length you choose, and 7 years for the matte one, and per FEYNLAB's terms for ceramic. We carry out warranty inspections. If anything looks off to you on the film's edge or the layer, bring the car in.

When we won't recommend a combination

If the paint needs correction first: both layers would seal it in at its current condition. If the car goes through a brush car wash, the brushes will find every edge of the film. More in the article When combining technologies makes sense. Want the whole car covered in film? See the Whole car scope on the Stone Chip Protection Film (PPF) page.
